The Bar is not only the place where we work. It is the place where we grow, struggle, and learn every day. It is where our dignity and our future slowly take shape.
Every advocate in Barasat has a story. Some start their journey with confidence. Some start with fear and many questions. But all of us carry one thing in common. Responsibility. Responsibility towards our fellow friends, clients, our courts, and our profession.
Standing for what is right, ensuring every advocate's voice is heard and respected.
Building a Bar where seniors mentor juniors and everyone grows together.
Ensuring no advocate feels helpless during illness or professional challenges.
I am Adv. Somnath Mondal, a practising advocate at Barasat and the nearby courts. Like most of you, I come to court every day with responsibility on my shoulders. Responsibility towards clients, towards the court, and towards our profession.
Over the years, I have learned a few simple things. Knowledge in law should be shared with juniors, not kept for own as it will go forever if the brain dies and the flow of knowledge will not flow. And a Bar Association should always stand beside its members, not remain distant.
Along with my regular legal work, I stayed connected with Bar activities and legal writing. In my work and in my blogs. Not to look different, but because law works best when it is understood. Big words may sound nice, but clear words help more.
